 Latest News from Chatting Independently

In October 2006, we increased both our number of residents and staff from 2 residents and 6 staff to 4 residents and 12 staff. By the end of November we had our fifth resident and 15 staff. This gave us a full complement of residents.

During our inspection from CSCI at the end of January 2007, the Inspector considered our request for a variation to our registration to register a new ensuite bedroom in the new extension. The ensuite was registered finally in April 2007.

The furnishings, curtains and carpet were donated generously by John Lewis in Peterbrough and we thank them for such a kind gesture.

As we came into 2007 and during the last four months we have had a number of visits from interested families for their sons and daughters leaving school or college.

In fact, one of these families have successfully received funding for their son to come to Chatting Independently in August. There are three others looking for funding presnetly for assessments. This provided us with a dilemma because the present bungalow is full. We decided we needed a new property still in the town of March for our new resident and prospective residents.

We found a property almost across the main road in front of the present bungalow at 42a Wimblington Road. We exchanged on 30th April and hope to have the keys on 15th May.
